Illustration Friday – Breakfast

July 16, 2010

Starving Artist Ad

I had grand plans for this week’s challenge. It had been a while since I took a part in Illustration Friday, so when I checked my inbox and saw that “Breakfast” was the theme…. well I had to go with this pre-existing piece of mine. I liked it because I got my name in the advertisement and it was also a fun piece to create. Doing art for McDonald’s was nothing to sneeze at either!! Reference was easy to find, and this was the first in the 2 for 1 campaign.

Okay, next week it will be ALL NEW! Hold me to it!!

Subtle Differences

I keep finding these old paintings that I really liked. Not much more to say about this. Newer work is coming soon!

One of My Faves

One of My Faves

I have been in the process of moving and upgrading to a Mac after my PC died abruptly and quite horribly. Here is an older piece while I contemplate this week’s Illustration Friday project.

The Soviet Clique

September 19, 2008

Dictionary.com defines a clique as a small exclusive group of friends or associates. I immediately thought of this piece (painted while there were still Soviet generals!). This is mixed media on watercolor paper. I had lots of fun working on this. Hence my submission to the Illustration Friday challenge for the week!

John McCain

September 19, 2008

After the response I received from my drawing of Barack Obama, I decided on equal time for the opposition. Here is my rendition of John McCain. I had intended to execute this as a drawing as well, but scrapped that idea for some color and brushstrokes! This print is also available at Fine Art America.
